Hanin Mahmoud El-Thawabta

Hanin Mahmoud El-Thawabta is an Arabic Language Teacher at the primary level with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. She is committed to developing innovative teaching strategies and integrating technological advancements to foster critical thinking, self-expression, and independent learning. Her ultimate goal is to prepare a generation of creative and self-reliant individuals. Haneen currently focuses on incorporating technology in education and integrating artificial intelligence into Arabic language learning, particularly in reading and writing. She also uses educational applications to motivate learners through formative education processes. She is dedicated to empowering her students to develop their own voice and perspectives.
Hanin holds a bachelor’s degree in Online and Print Journalism from Qatar University (2016) and a master’s degree in Arabic Linguistics and Lexicography from the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Qatar University. As a graduate of the Leadership Journey Program at Teach For Qatar, she worked as an Arabic Language Teacher in Qatar’s public schools and is a certified trainer by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in the United Kingdom.

Hanin’s background includes practical experience in online journalism and participation in various media-related training programs. She also completed a Fellowship in Inclusive Education with Teach For All. She delivered workshops on artificial intelligence and technology integration in education in collaboration with IBM and Google. In 2023, she played a pivotal role in training new TFQ Fellows at Summer Institute.
Additionally, Hanin collaborated with the Research and Studies Center at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies to document the Gulf Crisis between 2020 and 2021. She also worked in the field of computational linguistics as a Research Assistant at the Doha Institute in 2019. Her exceptional research titled “Designing an Electronic Lexicon for Loanwords in the Qatari Curriculum: ‘Know Your Borrowed Terms Lexicon'” won her a gold medal at the National Scientific Research Competition in Qatar in 2023, showcasing her remarkable research and innovative skills.
